15-Year-Old Dakody Hall Identified in Fatal Lufkin Truck Crash

 
LUFKIN, TX (February 9, 2023) – The Texas Department of Transportation identified 15-year-old Dakody Tyshawn Aahmad Hall of Lufkin who died in crash between a pickup and an 18-wheeler on Highway 103 on January 4.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Crain Avenue at approximately 8:45 PM. Based on a report, 37-year-old Terry Lynn Vaught Jr. of Longview was driving an 18-wheeler on Crain prior to the crash.
 
As he turned east onto the Highway, he did not yield the right-of-way and hit an oncoming 2009 Chevrolet Colorado, where Hall was a passenger in.
 
As a result, Hall died at the scene.
 
Emergency crews rushed the driver of the Chevrolet, 19-year-old Konnor Malkolm Taylor, to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
