14-Year-Old Motorbike Rider Died in Crash near Brewer Middle School

WHITE SETTLEMENT, TX (November 7, 2022) – A 14-year-old male who was riding his mini-motorbike died after a driver struck him near Brewer Middle School on Tuesday, November 1.

Authorities said that the fatal accident took place around lunchtime when the unnamed teenager, who was seen riding his mini-motorbike, was struck by a vehicle being driven by a woman. The crash took place outside of the Mary Poppins Balloons and Flowers store near the school, police said.

Further investigation revealed that the SUV was heading north on South Cherry Lane when it hit the teenager near the interaction. The bike went under the SUV where it caught fire, authorities said.

The victim was ejected from his vehicle a few feet away.

The boy, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered serious head injuries. He is in transported to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth and is listed in serious condition.

Police say the mini-motor bike was not street legal and the boy is too young to operate any motor vehicle on a public street.

Authorities believed that the victim did not attend the said school despite the accident happening there. It appears that the teenager lives nearby and was heading home when the crash happened.

Investigation remains ongoing.
