Teen Dead after Five-Vehicle Accident on Highway 195 in Rosalia

 
ROSALIA, WA (December 3, 2024) — A 13-year-old from Pullman died after a five-vehicle accident on Highway 195 on Saturday, November 17.
 
According to Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Highway 195
 
WSP said a semi-truck jackknifed after the driver lost control control on an icy roadway on Highway 195. It then blocked both lanes of the highway, causing several other vehicles to collide with it. In addition, the jackknifed semi-trailer also struck a parked truck and pushed it into a rock wall.
 
One of the vehicles crashed into the semi in the left lane. After that, it went into the right lane and hit two other vehicles.
 
The driver of one of the vehicles suffered minor injuries and received treatment at Sacred Heart Medical Center. However, his 13-year-old passenger died at the hospital.
 
WSP confirmed said three cars and two trucks were part of the accident.
 
Officers do not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
