Fatal Car Crash on Highway 94 in El Paso County

 
EL PASO COUNTY, CO (March 7, 2023) – Officials confirmed that a 12-year-old child died in a multi-vehicle car crash on Highway 94 on March 6.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened near Ellicott shortly before 7:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, three vehicles were waiting behind a school bus at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a fourth vehicle crashed into them.
 
As a result, the child who was in the vehicle that was first hit suffered grave injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Emergency crews transported three people to area hospitals near Ellicott with injuries. One person sustained severe injuries while the other two had moderate and one with minimal injuries.
 
The school bus was not involved in the accident.
 
CSP said that distracted driving was the cause of this accident.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
