Doris Strong Killed, Marcus McKnight, James McClain and Michelle McClain Hurt in Accident on FM 3053 [Kilgore, TX]

Doris Strong Identified in Fatal Gregg County Accident

 
GREGG COUNTY, TX (March 9, 2023) – Police identified 68-year-old Doris Strong of Dallas as the victim who died in an accident on FM 3053 on March 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Goforth Road around 6:00 PM. Based on a report, 47-year-old Marcus McKnight of Cedar Hill was driving an SUV with Strong on Goforth Road prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, 64-year-old James McClain and his wife, 64-year-old Michelle McClain, were traveling in a pickup south on FM 3053. Due to unknown reasons, the SUV failed to yield the right of way, causing the truck to hit its passenger side.
 
As a result, Strong suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Crews transported McKnight and both James and Michelle McClain to the hospital for their injuries.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
