Pedestrian Killed in Santa Ana Accident, Carlos Nunez Arrested for DUI

 
SANTA ANA, CA (February 27, 2023) – Officers arrested 26-year-old Carlos Alberto Lopez Nunez after a fatal pedestrian accident on West 1st Street on February 20.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at North Figueroa Street at about 3:29 AM. Based on a report, Santa Ana police responded to multiple calls regarding a pedestrian down in the roadway.
 
Upon arrival, they located the victim with grave injuries. They said a vehicle struck the victim and left the scene.
 
As a result, the Orange County Fire Authority pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
Later on, police identified and located Nunez and took him into custody on suspicion of a felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
