17-Year-Old Jackson Smith, Chance Spoon Injured in Crash on Circle Drive in Brookeland

 
BROOKELAND, TX (December 30, 2022) – Paramedics transported 17-year-old Jackson Smith and 21-year-old Chance Spoon to the hospital following a crash on Circle Drive on December 24.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened shortly after 6:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, Smith was driving a 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck eastbound on the road prior to the crash. Subsequently, he made a turn at an unsafe speed while approaching a curve. Then, the truck went off the road and struck a tree.
 
As a result, Smith and Spoon, his passenger, suffered injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported them to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment.
 
Smith received a citation for Unsafe Speed. As of now, the case remains under investigation.
