Erik Montgomery Identified in Fatal Lubbock Car Crash

 
LUBBOCK, TX (January 3, 2022) – The Lubbock Police Department identified 25-year-old Erik Montgomery as the victim who died in a street racing crash on 34th Street on December 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened in the 4900 block of 34th Street around 6:20 PM. Based on a report, two vehicles were racing westbound on the road prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, Montgomery’s vehicle in the right lane left the roadway and struck a power pole. The other vehicle in the left lane continued westbound to flee the scene.
 
As a result, Montgomery suffered severe injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to University Medical Center, where he later died.
 
As of now, the investigation is still ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
