ROY, WA (December 8, 2022) – The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the death of a woman following a DUI crash in the 1200 block of 304th Street East on December 3.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened just after midnight. Based on a report, witnesses called 911 to report a single-car crash in the Mountain Detachment.

Deputies responded and found the car’s passenger ejected from the vehicle.

As a result, emergency crews pronounced the 48-year-old woman dead at the scene. Officials did not release her name, pending kin notification.

Crews extricated and rushed the car’s 43-year-old driver to a nearby hospital for her injuries.
