Stephanie Bettini-Barbutti Died, Another Injured in Murrieta Crash on Interstate 215

 
MURRIETA, CA (December 1, 2022) – Stephanie Bettini-Barbutti died while another person sustained injuries after a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, November 26.

Based on California Highway Patrol’s investigation, the crash took place around 11:45 a.m. CHP stated that the crash happened when Bettini-Barbutti drove southbound in a 2004 Toyota Corolla and maneuvered toward the Interstate 215 off-ramp to Clinton Keith Road.

However, Bettini-Barbutti quickly drove back to the No.3 lane and maneuvered to the right sharply, which caused the vehicle to slide sideways before striking a freeway exit sign.

Bettini-Barbutti continued southwest after hitting the exit sign but again struck a light pole before finally stopping.

23-year-old Bettini-Barbutti from Portland died at the scene, police said.

The 22-year-old passenger from Camas, Washington sustained major injuries. Medical personnel took her to Inland Valley Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains open for investigation.
