13-Year-Old Theresa Franklin Died in Fatal Beaumont Car Crash

 
BEAUMONT, TX (November 28, 2022) – Police identified 13-year-old Theresa Franklin as the victim who died in a stolen car crash on Major Drive on November 20.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 10 Freeway around 3:30 AM. Based on a report, officers responded to a call and found five minors fleeing the scene in a 2023 Silver Hyundai.
 
The Nederland Police Department reported the vehicle as stolen. Subsequently, Beaumont Police Patrol spotted the vehicle and soon, it crashed into a concrete pillar at Major.
 
As a result, Franklin, a passenger in the car, died in the incident.
 
A 14-year-old who drove the car is now facing a manslaughter charges.
 
Police are trying to be transparent and release what they can while protecting the privacy of minors. As of now, an investigation is ongoing.
