Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Rigsby Avenue in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX (November 18, 2022) – An unidentified person died after a suspected 18-wheeler struck them in a pedestrian accident on Rigsby Avenue on Tuesday evening, November 19.

Based on the San Antonio Police Department, the fatal accident took place around 9:00 p.m. in the 5300 block of Rigsby Avenue near Bermuda Avenue and Highway 87. There is not much information surrounding the crash at this time. However, police believe that an 18-wheeler truck possibly struck the pedestrian.

Authorities asked two big rigs to pull over but they did not observe any damage to the vehicles. They furthered that security cameras near the area of the accident will be analyzed to determine the details leading to the accident.

Responding officers arrived at the scene with the pedestrian lying on the street, unresponsive. The person was pronounced dead at the scene, police confirmed.

An investigation remains ongoing.
