Leobardo Barrientos-Mendez Dead in Truck Crash on Farm-to-Market 60 in Somerville

 
SOMERVILLE, TX (September 20, 2022) – Police identified Leobardo Barrientos-Mendez as the victim who died in a two-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market 60 on September 17.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at the Davidson Creek Bridge shortly before 11:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, Barrientos-Mendez was traveling in a 2003 Ford F150 eastbound on FM 60. At the same time, a 2009 Peterbilt truck tractor semi-trailer was attempting to exit a private drive. Due to unknown reasons, the victim struck the trailer of the Peterbilt.
 
As a result, 68-year-old Barrientos-Mendez of Bryan died at the scene.
 
Emergency crews transported his passenger to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Peterbilt was not hurt in the crash.
 
As of now, an investigation is underway. In addition, there are no other details available.
