PHOENIX, AZ (February 28, 2025) — Three people sustained serious injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on 17 Freeway on Saturday, February 8.
 
The collision occurred around 1:00 p.m. on 17 Freeway near milepost 215, just past Deer Valley Road.
 
The Phoenix Fire Department reported that between five and seven vehicles were involved. Emergency crews evaluated seven people at the scene. After that, they transported three to a local trauma hospital. Meanwhile, four others declined further medical treatment.
 
Officials blocked the left southbound lanes of Highway 17 near Deer Valley Road for several hours as crews worked to clear the scene. They reopened lanes reopened around 3:00 p.m.
 
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the crash.
