Douglas Cano-Zetino Dead, Jesse Garcia and Two Others Hurt in Amarillo Rollover Accident

 
AMARILLO, TX (February 6, 2025) — 34-year-old Douglas Cano-Zetino died in a rollover accident on Saturday, February 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident happened at around 6:00 p.m. on RM 1061, approximately 24 miles north of Vega.
 
Police said a 2004 Toyota Tacoma driven by Cano-Zetino traveled west on RM 1061. Then he veered off the roadway into the north ditch.
 
In an attempt to regain control, he overcorrected to the left. It then caused the truck to skid sideways across the road. After that, it overturned multiple times in the south ditch.
 
The impact ejected Cano-Zetino from the vehicle. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Three passengers—32-year-old Jesse Garcia, 26-year-old Christian Galeano-Ruiz, and 18-year-old Amadeo Cano, all of Irving—sustained injuries. Garcia and Galeano-Ruiz received treatment at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported Cano to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo for minor injuries.
 
The Texas DPS continues to investigate the crash.
