Sheldon Withrow Dead in Motorcycle Crash in Vidor

 
VIDOR, TX (January 31, 2025) — 20-year-old Sheldon Withrow, of Lumberton, died in a motorcycle accident on Friday, January 24.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. in the 3900 block of South FM 105, north of Ponderosa Street.
 
DPS officials said Withrow rode a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound at an unsafe speed. As a result, he lost control, causing the motorcycle to skid into the southbound lane.
 
After that, a GMC pickup traveling southbound collided with the motorcycle.
 
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced Withrow dead at the scene. Orange County Precinct Three Justice of the Peace Joy Dubose-Simonton ordered an autopsy.
 
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old driver of the GMC, from Orange, did not sustain injuries.
 
The Texas Department of Public Safety handles the ongoing investigation of the crash.
