Daniel Codina Fatally Injured in McAllen Bicycle Accident

 
MCALLEN, TX (December 1, 2024) — 68-year-old McAllen resident Daniel Codina died in a bicycle accident on Wednesday, November 13.
 
According to the McAllen Police, the accident occurred on the 900 block of West Highway 83 just before midnight.
 
McAllen Police said a vehicle struck Codina, who rode a bike, on West Highway 83.
 
Emergency responders arrived and then pronounced him at the scene.
 
The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police.
 
As of writing, officers have not yet released whether speed and/or intoxication contributed a factor in the crash. There are also no reports yet on the circumstances that led to the crash.
 
The investigation of the accident is still underway.
