Boy Fatally Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident on Herring Road and Shoup Road

 
BLACK FOREST, CO (September 9, 2024) — A 12-year-old boy died in a two-vehicle crash on Herring Road on Friday, August 30.
 
The Colorado State Patrol said the accident occurred on Herring Road and Shoup Road at about 9:00 p.m.
 
According to the CSP, troopers received reports of a crash at the intersection. When they arrived, they found a vehicle on Herring Road failed to stop at a stop sign. Then it crashed into the front right side of a second vehicle on Shoup Road.
 
Police said the car that failed to stop was driven by a 75-year-old man. Meanwhile, the second vehicle was driven by a 50-year-old man with a 12-year-old boy as a passenger.
 
Both drivers suffered minor injuries. Paramedics brought the boy to the hospital. However, he later succumbed to his injuries and died.
 
CSP said they do not suspect drugs or alcohol as factors in the accident.
