One Killed after Austin Pedestrian Accident on 35 Freeway

 
AUSTIN, TX (September 9, 2024) — One died in a pedestrian accident on the 35 Freeway on Tuesday, September 3.
 
According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, the accident happened in the 900 block of North 35 Freeway near 8th Street at around 5:37 a.m.
 
The Austin Police Department said the crash involved a pedestrian. Responding paramedics pronounced one adult dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle was not hurt. In addition, reports said the driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
 
APD said they diverted the northbound traffic to the 6th Street exit.
 
The Texas Department of Transportation said the accident blocked the three main lanes and the shoulder. It has since reopened.
 
The investigation into the 60th traffic-related death of 2024 is still underway. APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit urges with any information about this case to call them at 512-974-8111.
