Semi-Truck Involved in Fiery Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 95 in Mineral County
MINERAL COUNTY, NV (July 29, 2024) – Officials confirmed that a man died following a semi-truck accident o on Highway 95 on July 2.
According to the Nevada State Police, the collision happened just three miles south of the town of Luning around 10:00 PM. Based on a report, a green Freightliner truck was traveling south on the highway prior to the crash.
At the same time, a Saturn Ion was going north, approaching the truck. Due to unknown reasons, the truck crossed a solid yellow line and entered the northbound lane to pass another car. At that point, it hit the front of the Saturn, causing it to burst into flames. The debris from the initial crash struck a black Toyota Camry.
As a result, the driver of the Saturn suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver and co-driver of the Freightliner sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the Camry was not hurt.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
