SCOTTSDALE, AZ (July 29, 2024) – The Scottsdale Police Department confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian accident on Scottsdale Road on July 13.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Thunderbird Road. Based on a report, the victim was walking on the sidewalk prior to the accident.
 
Due to unknown reasons, she left the sidewalk and walked on the road, where she was hit by a vehicle.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The driver remained at the scene and spoke with first responders.
 
Police did not believe impairment was a factor for the driver, but did not say whether or not impairment was a factor for the pedestrian.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
