Daniel Scott Dead in Big Spring Hit-and-Run on North Owens Street

 
BIG SPRING, TX (June 27, 2024) — A 31-year-old man identified as Daniel Scott died in a hit-and-run on Saturday, June 8.
 
According to the Big Spring Police Department, the crash took place on the 600 block of North Owen Street near North Benton Street at about 4:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Scott dead at the scene.
 
According to a friend who was present, he and Scott walked home southbound on North Owens Street. Then a dark-colored pickup truck moving northbound struck Scott.
 
After the collision, the vehicle briefly slowed down, then it sped up and fled the area.
 
The Big Spring Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division also responded to the scene.
 
Initial investigations describe the suspect vehicle as a 2015-2020 dark-colored Chevrolet 1500 extended cab. The report said it most likely had front and undercarriage damage.
