Fatal Pedestrian-Motorcycle Accident on North Powers Boulevard and Palmer Park Boulevard
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (June 19, 2024) — A pedestrian died in a motorcycle crash on North Powers Boulevard on Sunday, June 2.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the accident took place on North Powers Boulevard and Palmer Park Boulevard at about 10:15 p.m.
Police said initial investigation determined that the motorcycle traveled north on North Powers Boulevard with a green light. Then the pedestrian tried to cross the crosswalk against a red light. After that, the motorcycle struck the pedestrian.
Medical personnel from AMR and the Colorado Springs Fire Department arrived at the scene and then pronounced the pedestrian dead.
CSPD said it is early in the investigation. They are still trying to determine if any other factors contributed to the crash.
Authorities closed the road was closed for several hours. They reopened it at about 5:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3.
