Marisa Jolly and Motie Curtis Arrested, Woman Dead after Pedestrian Accident on Highway 2

 
SPOKANE, WA (March 21, 2024) — Authorities arrested Marisa Jolly and Motie Charles Curtis after a fatal pedestrian accident on Wednesday, March 13.
 
According to the Spokane Police Department a vehicle driving east on Highway 2 struck a woman somewhere between Flint Road and Spotted Road at around 2:30 a.m.
 
Then, a few moments later, a second vehicle struck her. The woman died at the scene.
 
Both vehicles initially left the scene. However, police tracked down both drivers. They identified the driver as Curtis and 28-year-old Jolly.
 
An investigating officer said the first vehicle driven by Curtis left the woman lying injured. Yet, she is still alive in the roadway.
 
Moments later, Jolly, who drove a 2006 Toyota Corolla, struck the woman the second time, which caused fatal injuries.
 
The officer observed signs of impairment in Jolly’s behavior. She admitted drinking and having a few puffs of marijuana earlier in the day.
 
Authorities booked both Curtis and Jolly in Spokane County Jail Wednesday morning. They charged Jolly with vehicular homicide and driving with a suspended license.
 
At the same time, they charged Curtis with a felony hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license.
