71-Year-Old Plautila Aguirre Killed after Car Crashes into Her Garland Apartment

 
GARLAND, TX (January 29, 2024) — A 71-year-old woman identified as Plautila Aguirre died after a car crashed into her apartment on Tuesday, January 23.
 
According to Garland police, the incident happened at around 9:20 a.m. on the 1700 block of North Jupiter Road.
 
Garland police said a maroon Buick LeSabre moved east on Fieldcrest Drive. Then the driver allegedly experienced a medical episode.
 
The vehicle then crashed into a Nissan Altima. After that, it continued to drive into an apartment complex on North Jupiter Road.
 
Aguirre was inside the apartment at the time and the Buick hit her, police said. Paramedics rushed her to the hospital, where she succumbed to sustained injuries.
 
Garland police said emergency responders also transported the driver of the Buick to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
Investigators said the driver cooperated with the investigation and has no criminal charges.
 
Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
