Woman Struck and Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver on Highway 12 in Elma

 
ELMA, WA (January 5, 2024) – Troopers confirmed that a 49-year-old Elma woman suffered injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in the 4700 block of Highway 12 on January 2.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 7:18 AM. Based on a report, the woman was attempting to cross the highway from the westbound side at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck her and its driver continued in an unknown direction on the highway. Subsequently, the woman managed to walk over and sit down in a bystander’s vehicle on the eastbound shoulder.
 
She suffered injuries and was transported to Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma for treatment.
 
The WSP did not yet release any information on the hit-and-run vehicle and its driver.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
