One Dies, Eligio Gonzalez and Joselyn Brown Suffer Injuries After Mojave Crash
MOJAVE, CA (January 4, 2024) — A motorist died while Eligio Gonzalez and Joselyn Brown sustained injuries after a crash on Highway 4 on Thursday evening, December 21.
The fatal incident, which occurred near mile marker 47 at around 8:00 p.m., involved a Ford F-250, a 2016 Kenworth truck-tractor pulling a 2016 enclosed Wabash trailer and a Mazda CX-50, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officials stated that the Ford, driven by 52-year-old Gonzalez, had traveled north on Highway 14. However, the Ford collided into the Kenworth trailing the Wabash being operated by 48-year-old Marisol Aguirre of Southgate.
The force of impact left Gonzalez unable to control the Ford, which then slammed the southbound Mazda, driven by a 29-year-old Long Beach resident who had 30-year-old Brown as a passenger.
The unnamed driver of the Mazda died at the scene.
Meanwhile, Gonzalez and Brown received transport to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Aguirre emerged from the collision unharmed.
Authorities are still looking into the cause and factor surrounding the accident.
