Jacob Snellings Identified in Fatal Accident With DUI Driver on Avenue 51 in Coachella

 
COACHELLA, CA (June 14, 2023) – The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department identified 21-year-old Jacob Snellings of Coachella who died in an accident on Avenue 51 on June 6.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Chiapas Street. Based on a report, Snellings was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed with another car in the lanes. Officers said that the driver of the other car, 38-year-old Antonio Tellez Leon of Coachella, was under the influence at that time.
 
As a result, Snellings suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the vehicle he was in sustained major injuries.
 
Police arrested Leon on suspicion of murder, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, violation of probation and driving under the influence causing injury.
