Woman Fatally Run Over by 18-Wheeler Truck on 35 Freeway in San Marcos

 
SAN MARCOS, TX (December 11, 2023) – The San Marcos Police Department confirmed a woman died in a pedestrian accident on 35 Freeway on December 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at Aquarena Springs Drive shortly before 6:30 PM. Based on a report the woman was stowing away on the exterior of the 18-wheeler before the accident.
 
As the truck stopped in traffic, she attempted to get off but she slipped and was run over as the vehicle began to move again. A man who was traveling with her left the scene before emergency crews arrived.
 
As a result, the woman suffered grave injuries in the incident. Police responded along with the San Marcos Fire Department and Hays County EMS crews but the victim died at the scene. Officials have not yet released her name, pending kin notification.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
