PHOENIX, AZ (September 29, 2024) — A woman sustained critical injuries after a pedestrian accident on 30th Street on Saturday, September 14.
 
According to the Phoenix Police, the accident took place near 30th Street and Indian School Road around 5:00 a.m.
 
Detectives believe the woman pushed her own wheelchair across the street mid-block. Then a vehicle traveling west on Indian School Road struck her.
 
Officers responded and found the woman on the road with a vehicle stopped nearby.
 
After that, emergency responders brought the woman to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was in critical condition.
 
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and did not display signs of impairment.
 
Authorities then closed the area as police investigated what led to the accident.
