Woman Killed after Conifer Head-On Accident on Highway 285

 
CONIFER, CO (December 10, 2024) — One person sustained fatal injuries in a head-on accident on Highway 285 on Friday, November 22.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the fatal incident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Highway 285 by milepost 234 near Conifer.
 
CSP said troopers discovered that a Dodge pickup truck traveled south. After that, it crossed into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a Xcel Energy truck.
 
The driver of the Dodge, a 63-year-old woman from Shawnee, died on the scene. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not yet released her identity, pending family notification.
 
CSP said two juveniles in the pickup truck received treatment for minor injuries. The driver of the Xcel Energy truck also suffered minor injuries.
