BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 14, 2023) – Jose Luis Moscott Ruiz was involved in a fatal pedestrian accident on Adams Street and Union Avenue on February 7.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened in the evening. Based on reports, a 35-year-old woman walked into the traffic lanes around the area of Adams Street and Union.

For unknown reasons, she went into the path of a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Ruiz from Bakersfield.

Due to the impact, she succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene.

Ruiz stayed and cooperated with the investigation. He was driving around 40 mph when the accident occurred, officials say.
