UVALDE, TX (March 10, 2025) — William Garret Robertson and Earle Blakelt Hunnicutt died in a helicopter crash on Thursday, February 27.
 
The crash happened around 1:20 p.m. inside Harris Ranch Uvalde, located at 18072 Highway 90 West.
 
First responders arrived between 2:00 and 2:30 p.m. Then they pronounced both Robertson and Hunnicutt dead at the scene.
 
Officials confirmed that Robertson, an Uvalde resident, was the pilot of the helicopter. Meanwhile, Hunnicutt from Florida was the passenger. Their ages were not available.
 
Kinney County Judge John Paul Schuster mentioned that the pair were experienced. In addition, officials believed they were on one of their annual flights, possibly surveying game over the ranch. However, Sheriff Brad Coe stated they could not yet confirm this detail.
 
The helicopter, identified as a Robinson R44, is commonly used for game management and aerial spraying. Authorities stated an Uvalde-based company owned the aircraft.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) handle the investigation of the incident.
