Wendem Herzog Killed, Two Injured after Car Hits Horse on Highway 395 at Red Rock Road

 
RENO, NV (July 2, 2024) — 19-year-old Wendem Herzog from Queen Creek, Arizona, died in a crash on Monday, June 3.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 395 northbound at Red Rock Road at about 2:20 a.m.
 
The initial investigation determined that a 2008 Subaru Tribeca with three occupants moved northbound on Highway 395 approaching the Red Rock Road off-ramp. For unknown reasons, a horse was in the roadway. Then the front of the Subaru struck the horse.
 
Paramedics transported all three occupants of the vehicle to the hospital. Medical personnel pronounced Herzog, who was one of the passengers, dead at the hospital.
 
Investigators ask anyone who saw the crash or may have information about the incident or the horse to call the Nevada Highway Patrol Reno office at 775-687 9600.
