Wayne Todd Dies in Thorndale Car Accident on FM 486

 
THORNDALE, TX (January 18, 2024) — One person identified as 61-year-old Wayne Hoyt Todd of Thorndale died in a car accident with a garbage truck on Tuesday, January 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash took place near the intersection of FM 486 and CR 436.
 
DPS said just after 9:00 a.m., Todd drove a 2021 Nissan Rouge north on FM 486 near County Road 436. However, Todd failed to slow for traffic. As a result, the Nissan slammed into the back of a 2019 International garbage truck that had stopped to pick up trash.
 
Todd suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The occupants of the garbage truck did not sustain any injuries.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash. There is no additional information at this time.
