Two Teenagers Killed in Yuma Car Accident on 14th Avenue

YUMA, AZ (July 10, 2024) — Two people died and three others suffered injuries in a car accident on 14th Avenue on Friday, June 21.

According to the Yuma police, the crash took place on 14th Avenue near 1st Street, west of 8 Freeway, at about 3:30 a.m.

Yuma police said a 16-year-old driver traveled at a high rate of speed on 14th Avenue. Then he lost control and hit a brick wall, two parked vehicles, and a house.

Paramedics pronounced the driver and an 18-year-old woman who was in the front passenger seat dead at the scene.

Three teen passengers who were in the backseat suffered injuries. Paramedics transported the 13-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old girl, to Yuma Regional Medical Center. However, they later airlifted the two 13-year-olds to a Phoenix-area hospital due to serious injuries.
