FLAGSTAFF, AZ (June 20, 2024) — Two people died in a tractor-trailer crash on the 40 Freeway on Thursday, June 6.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a crash involving two tractor-trailers occurred at around 3:00 a.m. on the 40 Freeway near the eastbound off-ramp to Parks.
 
Reports said one of the tractor-trailers stopped at a fork in the roadway. Then the driver went out to inspect the tires. Another tractor-trailer then crashed into the stopped vehicle and caused significant damage.
 
AZDPS said the driver and co-driver of the stopped vehicle died at the scene. The driver and co-driver of the other tractor-trailer were not hurt.
 
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased.
 
Officials continue to investigate the incident.
