Two Die, Three Suffer Injuries After Rental Truck Crash on Interstate 15

 
BAKER, CA (January 25, 2024) — Two people died while three others sustained injuries following a rental truck crash on Interstate 15 early Friday morning, January 19.

The fatal incident, which happened at about 4:11 a.m., involved a white Budget rental truck hauling a vehicle or trailer and two unspecified vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities stated that the three vehicles, occupied by a total of six people, had figured in a collision on northbound I-15, for undetermined reasons.

The wreckage then burst into flames.

As a result of the accident, two people died at the scene.

Meanwhile, four people survived but three of them suffered major injuries and received airlift transport to hospitals for treatment.

One of the patients was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center while the other two ended up confined at Las Vegas University Medical Center.

Officials continue to look into the cause and circumstances behind the crash.

With the investigation still underway, no additional information is available at this time.
