Four Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on Nellis Boulevard at Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 2, 2024) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed that two people died in a crash on Nellis Boulevard on December 24.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Charleston Boulevard shortly before 1:30 PM. Based on a report, a Mazda 3 was traveling near the intersection when it avoided a jaywalker and swerved in the lanes.
 
In a follow-up investigation, police said its driver failed to stop at a solid red traffic light and crossed into the eastbound travel lanes, where it struck three vehicles before coming to a stop.
 
As a result, the 40-year-old male driver and the 65-year-old female passenger in the Mazda suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. LVMPD did not yet release their names, pending kin notification.
 
Five people in the other three vehicles sustained minor injuries. Paramedics transported them to UMC for treatment. Two others reported minor injuries but declined medical attention at the scene.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
