Fatal Single Car Accident on Jackson Street in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (January 4, 2023) – Houston Police officials confirmed that two people died in a car accident on Jackson Street on December 24.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Anita Street around 11:30 PM. Based on a report, a Lexus SUV was driving toward the park on Jackson at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, it went over a curb, through some bushes, and crashed straight into a very large oak tree.
 
As a result, the male driver died on impact.
 
Emergency crews took her female passenger to a local hospital, where she was declared dead upon arrival. Officials did not release their names, pending kin notification.
 
Police are following up with the medical examiner to determine if alcohol was a factor. As of now, this crash is still under investigation.
