CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, CO (February 24, 2025) – Two people were harmed following an eight-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 on Monday morning, February 17.
 
According to the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 10:15 a.m. at mile marker 231.
 
For unknown reasons, 11 vehicles figured in a collision, police said. Initial reports, however, reported that the crash may have been caused by an F-350 pickup truck that was traveling at a high-speed rate on the icy road.
 
The impact of the crash caused the F-350 to leak around 80 gallons of fuel, police added.
 
Medics took two people to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The driver of the F-350 has been cited for careless driving.
 
Investigation into the incident remains open and active.
