Three Dead in Suspected DUI Crash on Purcell Boulevard near Jaroso Drive

 
PUEBLO WEST, CO (August 28, 2023) — Three people died following a DUI accident on Purcell Boulevard on Saturday, August 26.
 
According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, a Honda CRV traveled north on Purcell Boulevard Saturday evening. Then a southbound BMW drifted into its path.
 
After that, The CRV and BMW crashed head-on, killing everyone inside the CRV.
 
First responders arrived at the scene and found one occupant ejected from the CRV and two others dead inside the vehicle. As of writing, their identities were not yet available.
 
The driver and only occupant of the BMW survived the crash with minor injuries. Officials only described him as a 32-year-old man.
 
Authorities closed Purcell in both directions for seven hours between Linda Avenue and Jaroso Drive. They reopened the blocked lanes of the roadway at about 3 a.m. Sunday.
 
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the crash. They said they considered both alcohol and speed as factors.
