Teens Thomas Quintero Jr. and Eduardo Barragan Killed in Las Vegas Car Crash

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (March 20, 2024) — Thomas Quintero Jr. and Eduardo Barragan, both 16 and from Las Vegas, died in a crash on Saturday, March 9.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash took place on Pecos Road and Hacienda Avenue at about 12:30 p.m.
 
LVMPD said Quintero Jr. and Barragan were in a Pontiac traveling north on South Pecos Road. Then they reportedly failed to yield at a red light. After that, they struck a Ford Explorer in the intersection as the 21-year-old driver tried a left turn.
 
Due to the impact, the Pontiac went off the road toward a sidewalk and struck a light pole. It also ejected both the driver and passenger from the vehicle.
 
The passenger died at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the driver to the hospital in critical condition where he died.
 
Authorities listed Quintero’s cause of death as blunt force injuries, while they listed Barragan’s cause of death as blunt force injuries of the head and torso. They also listed the manner of death in both cases as an accident.
 
Reports have not immediately specified which teen was the driver and the passenger.
