Thomas Duncan Dead after Jacksonville Three-Vehicle Accident

 
JACKSONVILLE, TX (January 14, 2025) — 69-year-old Thomas Duane Duncan, of Gladewater, died in an accident on Wednesday, January 8.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred on Highway 79 at the Neches River Bridge at around 9:40 a.m.
 
The Texas DPS said an 18-wheeler traveling southbound on Highway 79 collided with a northbound 18-wheeler.
 
Then an SUV following behind the 18-wheeler reportedly struck a guard rail while trying to avoid the crash.
 
Duncan, who drove the southbound 18-wheeler, died at the scene.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
