Teenager Dead in UTV Crash on Jomax Road [Scottsdale, AZ]

High School Student Killed in Polaris UTV Crash on Jomax Road and Scottsdale Road

 
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (December 13, 2023) — A Valley high school student died in a UTV crash on Jomax Road on Saturday, December 9.
 
According to the Scottsdale police, officers rushed to the area of Jomax Road and Scottsdale Road at about 1 a.m.
 
When officers arrived at the scene, they found an overturned UTV. They said eight teens were in the vehicle.
 
Two of the occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries. Police said one of the injured later died while at the hospital.
 
According to the police, they will not release the names of those involved for the sensitivity of the family and because they are under 18.
 
Officials have not released the circumstances that led to the crash.
 
Police said there are no criminal or civil charges pending in connection to the incident.
 
Chaparral High School released a statement and identified the teen who died as a freshman. They described her as a “kind and happy student who had formed many positive relationships at school.”
