Stephon Johnson and Audrey Williams Identified in Fatal Crash on Highway 190 in Jasper

 
JASPER, TX (December 22, 2023) – Troopers identified Stephon Johnson of Burkeville and Audrey Williams of Holly Springs who died in a crash on Highway 190 on December 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near the LP Corporation’s Oriented Strand Board Plant entrance shortly after 9:00 PM. Based on a report, Johnson was a passenger in a 2004 Cadillac car traveling eastbound on the highway during the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the Cadillac’s driver attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. The vehicle then collided head-on with Williams’s westbound 2002 Nissan Sentra.
 
As a result, Johnson was trapped underneath the car. He suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Paramedics transported Williams to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where she died.
 
Crews said they also rushed the Cadillac’s driver, Autjuan Turner, to St. Elizabeth Hospital in critical condition.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
