TEXARKANA, TX (February 27, 2025) – Stephenette Dansby died following a pedestrian crash on East 9th Street on Saturday evening, February 15.
 
According to the Arkansas State Police, the fatal incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on the 1700 block of East 9th Street.
 
Initial investigation detailed that a woman was crossing a wet road when she was struck by a vehicle. The impact of the crash caused the pedestrian to be thrown about 60 feet into the air, police said.
 
The pedestrian, identified as Dansby, died at the scene.
 
Authorities arrested the SUV driver at the scene.
 
The crash remains under investigation.
