Siddharth Mukherjee Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 10 Freeway in El Paso

 
EL PASO, TX (December 1, 2024) — A man identified as Siddharth Mukherjee died in a pedestrian accident on Sunday, November 17.
 
According to the El Paso Police, the incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. on 10 Freeway East near Zaragoza Road.
 
El Paso Police said the preliminary investigation determined a white Cadillac driven by 48-year-old Haifeng Xiao, of El Paso, traveled East on the 10 Freeway near the Zaragoza Exit. Then a man crossed in front of the path of the white Cadillac and struck him. Mukherjee died at the scene.
 
Officials later identified the man as 38-year-old Siddharth Mukherjee of Humble, Texas.
 
According to officers, pedestrians on the roadway are a contributing factor to this incident.
 
The accident is the 61st traffic death in 2024 compared to 71 last year.
 
Reports said there were four pedestrian crashes reported in El Paso last weekend.
