Sandra Neilsen Dead in Hit-and-Run on Way Lane and South Bay Lane [Austin, TX]

Auto-Pedestrian Accident in Austin, Sandra Neilsen Identified

 
AUSTIN, TX (August 23, 2022) – A vehicle fled the scene of a fatal accident after hitting pedestrian Sandra Neilsen in Southwest Austin at 8:35 a.m. on August 17.

According to the Austin Police Department, a dark-colored sedan struck 70-year-old Neilsen who was crossing the street a short distance from Way Lane and South Bay Lane, in the neighborhood of Circle C Ranch.

The vehicle did not stop to render aid to the victim but continued driving northbound, police said.

The Austin-Travis County EMS transported the victim to a hospital for life-threatening injuries. However, she was pronounced dead the following day, as per reports.

A picture of the involved vehicle was released to the public. The rear tail lights on top of it was reportedly white. In addition, the right side of its back has a decal or stickers on it. Police also said that its wheels have a solid center cap.
