HUNTSVILLE, TX (January 17, 2024) — One person identified as 62-year-old Sandra Kay Bear from Huntsville died in a two-car crash on Saturday, January 13.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident took place on FM 1374 and Texas Grand Road at about 6:15 p.m.
 
The initial investigation determined a 2016 Kia Optima drove at a high rate of speed and rear-ended a 2014 Honda CRV.
 
Officials pronounced Bear who drove the CRV dead at the scene.
 
Paramedics rushed the driver of the Kia, 21-year-old Adria Nicole Taylor, to the hospital in serious condition.
 
DPS said the crash is still under investigation.
